The Clock Tower in Palmerston North was constructed in 1957 to house the clock removed from the Post Office in 1942, when the tower was removed as an earthquake risk. On the left can be seen the Post office, and beyond, on the skyline, the Australasian Temperance and General Mutual Life Assurance Society Ltd (T&G) building in Broadway.
