This photograph looking up Rangitikei Street, Palmerston North, was published in the "Weekly Graphic" (Auckland) on 23rd June 1904 p13. The building on the left is the Copeland's Building, situated on the site of the present National Bank Building. It housed several offices, including those of the Copeland Brothers (general commission agents), Guy and MacLean (solicitors), Moffatt (land agent), MacMillan (leather goods) and the Manawatu & West Coast Agricultural & Pastoral Association. John Bett & Co. were carriage makers. The man seated on the left of the wagon (holding reins and whip) is Mr Harry Brougham, a well-known carter of Palmerston North.
