G H Bennetts, booksellers and stationers, were established 1891. They constructed this building c.1917-1918. The etched out G H Bennett can be seen faintly on the facade of the building. The shop front was renovated in 1965. it was sold and operated as Whitcoulls from the 1980s. Whitcoulls closed the store in Broadway in 2018.
