This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 04 November 1958: "Tomato vines, far taller than the man who works among them, grow in profusion in the large greenhouse at Massey Agricultural College. Twice a week Mr. E.S. Ball harvests the crop. He began picking in mid-October, and will continue doing so until January. As each picking tin is filled it is weighed, boxed and sent to a local market for sale"
