Many of these men are unidentified. Named are Major C Dunk (6th from right), A.S. Aldrich (on Kiwi, 7th from right). Messers Aldrich and Pringle are also present, but not identified. The Manawatu Mounted Rifle volunteers were formed as part of the Wellington Battalion, Mounted Rifle Volunteers 7 November 1895.

The "Royal Wedding" floral art display seen here was held at the Centennial Convention Centre in July 1981 to commemorate the wedding of Prince Charles to Lady Diana Spencer. The display was mounted by the Manawatu Area Floral Art Society under the title "Royal Occasion".
