This photograph is one of a series made by Mr Wildbore between about 1922 and 1924 showing the construction of the Mangahao hydro-electric power scheme in the Tararua range, east of Shannon. This view shows the foundations being laid for the power house and the Mangaore Stream diverted to its new channel alongside the power house site.
