Front, from left: G Watchorn (Manawatu), W Shields (Manawatu), F Kerr (Wellington), D Sampson (Manager), Len Porter (Marlborough), Archie Leckie (Wellington).

For coverage of the tournament, see paperspast.natlib.govt.nz.

G Watchorn was involved in many sporting activities and competed in the Australasian Boxing Championship in 1910. He was awarded the gold medal for the most scientific boxing in the tournament. According to papers from the time, he won the competition against his competitor, Mr Ongley. He had been the New Zealand "welter weight" champion and runner-up in the Sydney Australiasian Championship in 1909.
