Description

This image was taken for Photorama pictorial magazine’s September 1960 edition but was not published.

Caption: “When Brosco the Robot, who was walking from Wellington to Wanganui, visited Palmerston North a large crowd turned out to see the spectacle.”

Brosco was a publicity stunt designed to publicise the Wanganui Industrial Fair. He unfortunately did not make it all the way to Whanganui, as an impatient driver ran into him in Bulls. An article about the stunt was written for the Wanganui Chronicle and published on 30 June 2012.
