This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 17 December 1962, "Mrs E. V. McKay's love of gardening has won for her first placing in the Hokowhitu garden competition. Entries were judged as they looked from the road. Mrs McKay's home at 30 Lincoln Terrace was not prepared specially for competition, she said."
