This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 08 September 1960 "The final of the Wellington Young Farmers Club Council junior debating was held last night in Palmerston North. The debate "That the study of a foreign language, living or dead, is essential to a balanced education" was won by the Central Taranaki team seated on the left. Southern Hawke's Bay took the affirmative. The two teams are (from the left) Messrs B. Turner (leader), I. Kregar, C. Jones, D. Collis (of Palmerston North, chairman), S. Wright, J. Grant and G. Buchanan.
