"Okay all you leather-trousered, fist-punching-in-the-air types. Hamilton metallers Knightshade play the Awapuni on November 30 and it's time to rock! Over the past few years, Knightshade have established themselves as one of New Zealand's most popular heavy metal/hard rock bands.

Their last tour, exactly a year ago, saw the band playing to 9000 people and garnering national airplay for their single You Don't Need Me. Now signed to a major Australian label Mushroom, the new single Last Night in the City has been recorded at Mandrill in Auckland, with production by American hard-rock ace Jim Faraci (Guns'N'Roses, Poison) and mixing at Village Records in Los Angeles.

As a slowish ballad from the power guitar school, Last Night in the City reinforces Wayne Elliot as a rock vocalist to be reckoned with, while Rik Edwards and Gavin Lind are power guitarists of no small talent. The driving rhythm section of drummer Alan Grady and bassist John Bell complete the line-up. Knightshade kicked off their present national tour opening for Bon Jovi at Western Springs last weekend."
