This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 06 February 1961: "Police dogs from Trentham and Wanganui gave a fine demonstration at the Woodville A. and P. Show on Saturday before a large crowd who were amazed at their capabilities. From left are: Constables A. Symes with Rex, C. Guppy with Kip and Surgener with Axel. Recently Axel took park in the search for two prisoners who escaped from Waikune prison."
