Description

A photograph from the newly constructed Civic Administration Building. The Butterly lakelet was constructed in 1909 by the Beautification Society. The fountains were a later addition in the 1960s.

It was so called because of its shape, with the bridge across being the body of the butterfly and the pond either side its wings.
