Ann Jacques

Ann Jacques came to Palmerston North as a young bride, with her husband William, who had been employed as a lecturer at the newly formed Massey Agricultural College in Palmerston North, in 1928. She was notably instrumental in the establishment of the Polish Army League in World War Two, and was, in later life, an advocate of the SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). She died at 101 years of age in 1994.
