"Mother and Daughter Save Boys' Life"

This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 25 October 1960 "Lesley Hogg and her mother, Mrs. G.F. Hogg, who rescued two boys from the Rangitikei River on Sunday. Lesley, who had received life-saving instruction at school, almost certainly saved the life of a nine-year-old boy when he fell from a log into a deep hole in the river. Her mother, too, had to go to the assistance of the boy's companion who was also in difficulties."
