This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 28 August 1961 "The chief shearing instructor for the New Zealand Wool Board (Mr. C. Waite) giving instruction to 11 senior shearing students at Massey Agricultural College today. Four students from Hawke's Bay had not arrived when this photograph was taken. The five-day course, which is being organised by the Wool Board, under the field direction of Mr. G. Bowen, commenced today, and the participants at the course will receive instruction in senior shearing, grinding and care of gear. They will shear halfbred Cheviots, Romneys and Southdowns."
