This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 16 February 1961: "This morning troopers, n.c.o.'s and officers of D Squadron of the New Zealand Scottish Regiment moved from an overnight stop at Himatangi into a new position on the banks of the Rangitikei River, behind Flock House. Arriving in position at 6.30 a.m., an hour after leaving Himatangi, members of the squadron concealed themselves in the trees and undergrowth and washed and prepared a stew for breakfast."
