Manawatū River at Parahaki Bridge

Description

Eight years after the closure of the Manawatū Gorge Road, a blessing ceremony and ribbon cutting for 
Te Ahu a Turanga - Manawatū Tararua Highway (SH3) was held on 7 June 2025 and opened to motorists on 11 June 2025.

The photo taken on Saturday 11 July 2026 at 3.19 pm shows the Manawatü River flowing under Parahaki Bridge and also the eastern end of Parahaki Island. The middle pier of the bridge stands on the island.
