This image was taken (but not used) for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 7th January 1966 "Work has started on the demolition of the Midland Hotel. The windows are here being removed before the front is [demolished]. The hotel licence has now been transferred to the New Pioneer Hotel."
