This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 19 January 1961: "The crowd were suddenly brought to their feet when among the many thrills at the Vic. Hudson trophy race, B. Wester No. 16, Cooper-Porsche exponent, of Hastings, spun at the hairpin and narrowly missed B. McKenzie, of Wellington, driving a Cooper."
