This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 21st December 1965 "Over 70 crippled children, accompanied by the field officer (Mrs. I.J. Nicholls) and several voluntary helpers, were the guests of the Palmerston North Commercial Travellers' and Warehousemen's Association yesterday. Early afternoon saw the party at the Collinson and Cunninghame, Ltd. cave where Father Christmas was in his gayest mood. With the excitement over, the party went to the Regent Theatre nearby where there was a special film, ice creams, sweets and small money gift for each child. Among the children were groups from Dannevirke and Feilding enjoying their first treat with the Palmerston North children. Just before midday the Dannevirke group arrived by bus and (above) are being entertained to lunch."
