The oval at Massey University Manawatū Campus, with the Refectory (left) and McHardy Hall in the background.

The oval was part of the original Massey Agricultural College grounds, housing the first hostel and refectory around the perimeter. The Refectory as shown is the original building and McHardy Hall was built during WWII as an officer training school, and later donated to Massey Agricultural College, as it then was.
