This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 06 September 1961 "For a long time now it has been evident that the present Y.W.C.A. hall is inadequate for all the association's activities. Earlier this year a start was made to extend the present premises to double the size. The enthusiasm of Sir Bruce Levy (building director), his band of voluntary helpers and the carpenters has brought the building to its present stage. The large-scale spring-fair held today was in aid of the building fund. Sir Bruce (centre) is seen with the two carpenters, Messrs. W. Allen (left) and H. Robert."
