This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 14 August 1961 "At Hokowhitu Park this morning, the University tournament hockey venue, a group of Canterbury students found the transport situation to and from the ground rather grim. After repeated efforts it was unanimously decided that it was impossible to fit six students on to two bicycles, and the gay crew abandoned the project. From the left the students are: T. Jellicot, Margaret Strahan, N. Young, Ronin Thodey, P. Hudson and Elaine Gower. All are students at Canterbury University."
