"New Road Bridge on Milson Line"

Description

This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 13 January 1961: "Contractors constructing the new bridge for Milson Line have been delayed by having to excavate a large amount of concrete from the site of the old bridge. Also due to the soft nature of the surrounding ground two extra piles will have to be driven for the new bridge which, when completed, will be in the same position as the old structure. On the right is the Bailey bridge being used at present."
