King and Teppett was established by Messrs F A King and C W Teppett in 1934, in the Majestic Buildings, previously known as Zealandia Hall. Garners bought the building in 1937, lowered the roof, remodelled the front portion and began trading as 'Garners'. King & Teppett then operated from Broadway Chambers before moving to Church Street c1990-1991. In 2006 they changed locations to Main Street in Terrace End.
