These images were taken for the Tribune weekly newspaper but were not published. The negatives had no accompanying information beyond the year ‘1978’.

They likely depict scenes from the Manawatū stage of the 1978 Pall Mall Rally, which was extensively covered by the Tribune. Cars 42, 103, 18, 105, 25, 104, 110, 112, 41, 120, 121, 4, 2, 21, 25, 30, 138, 7, 17 35, 39, and 15 identified. Drivers Pete Barnie and Mike Ladbrook identified.

These images form part of the Manawatū Evening Standard Negative Collection. Unfortunately, only negatives between April and December 1978 are held.
