This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 29 May 1958, page 10: "Veterinarians attending a conference at Massey College yesterday found time in a heavy programme of lectures to inspect the College experimental farm. Here they are seen discussing a new-type herring bone milking plant, which is designed to eliminate stooping and extra walking. The shed, where cows are baled on the angle during milking, saved floor space and is economical in construction. The plant, which was designed by a Hamilton man, has been accepted as satisfactory in many parts of the world. "
