Three teams attend the opening ceremony of the New Zealand National Special Olympics Summer Games held at the Manawatū Sports Stadium. The Games took place in Palmerston North between Friday 30 November and Sunday 2 December, with over 1250 atheletes participating. Auckland was the largest team, with 71 athletes attending. The Singapore team comprised six competitors and four supervisors.
