This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 28 February 1961 "During last weekend the City of Palmerston North Pipe Band received its new uniforms. The old uniform (centre) consisted of an Air Force battledress jacket. The first public performance of the band in the new uniforms will be at the pipe band contest next Saturday."
