Back Row: L to R Sgt. James; Sgt Salmon; Sgt. – Maj Barnett; Cpl Wallace; lt. Pringle; QM Rockstraw; Capt. Dunk. Front Row: Sgt Innes; Cpl Matheson; Bugler Salmon; Cpl Monro; Sgt Bett. The Rifles are in camp, probably at Hokowhitu, although their usual location was near Foxton. The Manawatu Mounted Rifles were formed in 1891. Although this photograph is attributed to the Manawatu Mounted Rifles comparison to the Palmerston North Rifle Volunteer photographs proves more acurate.
