John Evans, known as Jack, was the son of Ellis and Catherine Evans, born in Palmerston North 8 October 1908. Jack was an electrician, and is seen her at the Trade Union Office. The photograph is inscribed on the back, ‘My boyfriend “Peanut”. Jack married Betty Shortt in 1936 at All Saints Church, and they had 4 boys, born between 1937 - 1944. Jack died in 1970.
