Manawatū HeritageJanuary 23, 20172020-03-23T18:07:04+00:00This wall rug is 152cm wide by 119cm high. It is hand tufted and made of wool on polypropylene and hessian backing. Some of the wool was dyed by the artist. In 1999 it won the NZ WOOL GROUP AWARD FOR BEST EXHIBIT USING WOOL National Woolcraft Festival, Palmerston North. The design was inspired by the I Ching, hence the title, Ch'ien.

This piece is called Nocturne. It is made of cotton, silk and polyester threads machine embroidered onto handmade felt. It was given first place for 1) OPEN SECTION & 2) MACHINE EMBROIDERY AWARD at the Textile Techniques Association Of New Zealand, Embroiderers’ Guilds Inc. Conference, Open Exhibition, 2004. It is held in a private collection.
This embroidery on felt is called Spring Song. It is made of cotton, silk and polyester threads machine embroidered onto hand-felted wool. Made in 2007, it is held in a private collection.
