Description

De Havilland Rapide at Milson aerodrome after it's epic flight from England to Australia as part of an International Air Race. The plane then flew on to Palmerston North, this part of the flight taking 12 hours and 9 minutes. It was the first aircraft to fly from England to New Zealand.
The dangerous, in the dark landing, at Milson, causing the plane to crash in to a fence, damaging the wheel spat, as can be seen in the photo.
