Laing, of Papaioea Place, Palmerston North, are celebrating their golden wedding anniversary this week. They were married at Coaltown of Wemys, Scotland, by the Rev. J. Kennedy. The bride, the only daughter of the late Mr and Mrs D. White, who later came to New Zealand, lived at Coaltown of Wemys while Mr Laing came from Falkland, Scotland."
