Not much women’s sport in the early days. Promoted local sport. Worked as outside reporter then as the on-air presenter in the studio. Horse racing was big in those days with race commentaries from local and other parts of NZ. Big job co-ordinating all sports Seven day shopping had huge affect on sport. An increase in number of sports gave more options. As well as local sport Russell covered national sports as a commentator.
