This photograph is of a bus driver with one of the Municipal Motor Service buses, evidently bound for the Victoria Esplanade.In the late 1950s, several Bedford Omnibuses were purchased by the City Council to complement the public service fleet. Two 8 1/2 ton, 37 seater buses were purchased in 1957. In 1958, two 33 seater, 8 ton buses were purchased. Finally, two 21 seater 5 ton buses were purchased in 1962.
