Caption: "On Friday15th March, the annual Inter-Catholic Secondary Schools' Athletic Competition was held at Hato Paora College, Parorangi, Feilding. The four schools which took part were as follows: St Augustine's, Wanganui, St Joseph's, Masterton, St Patrick's, Palmerston North, St Paul's Maori Boys' college, Feilding. The Viard Shield was won by St Augustine's, Wanganui, for the second year in succession and the final points were: St Augustine's 49, St Joseph's 41, St Paul's, 33 1/2, St Patrick's 26 1/2. St Augustine's also won the senior and junior Relay trophies and the Intermediate Relay trophy went to St. Joseph's"
