This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 29 December 1962, "With the added burden of extra flights due to the holiday rush, the staff of N.A.C. at the Palmerston North Airport have been kept busy. Despite the extra traffic, the essential tasks still have to be carried out to conform with the safety regulations. In the picture, Mr H. Roberts is seen checking the propellers for possible signs of damage, while the aircraft is being re-fuelled prior to leaving for Auckland with holidaymakers."
