This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 24 May 1961 "Sir George Currie, the chairman of the Education Commission and Lady Currie, pause with their hosts at Caccia Birch, the Palmerston North University College hostel, last night. The hosts were the Palmerston North High Schools' Board of Governors, the Palmerston North University College, the Palmerston North Teachers' College and the Wanganui Education Board, members of which are seen in the photograph. They are (from the left): Sir George Currie, Mr. R. Tye (the acting- principal of Palmerston North University College), Mrs. Tye, Mrs. W.H. Brown, Mr. E. Blechynden (the chairman of the Palmerston North High Schools' Board), Mrs. Blechynden, Mr. K.A. North ( the principal of the Palmerston North Teachers' College), Mr. W.H. Brown, M.P. (the chairman of the Wanganui Education Board), Mrs. North and Lady Currie."
