This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 05 December 1960 "The grave of the discoverer of the Papaioea clearing in 1846, and his wife, Stephen Charles and Dinah Hartley, which has been fittingly renovated by the Palmerton North City Council, was dedicated at a service conducted by the Rev. P.A. Stead, of St. Paul's Church, at the Napier Road Cemetery yesterday. The city of Palmerston North now stands on the clearing discovered by Mr. Hartley."
