Pat Hayes (later Eaton) and Jan Hastie (later Shrama) at 16 years of age, had been fiends since they were 5 years old. Going to the Agricultural and pastoral Show at the Palmerston North Showgrounds was an annual outing, from when Pat was young. Pat made all her own dresses, as she did this one.
