This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 25 February 1958, page 6: "The Rangitikei River overflowed its banks at the Bulls bridge and covered a large acreage of the lower-lying ground. This picture shows a general view of the area about the time this peak of the flood, which reached 25 ft. 6 in. at the Mangaweka gauge, was passing the bridge today."
