- Description
-
This image was published in the November 12th, 1978, edition of the Tribune weekly newspaper with the caption: “Mr Gage (left), Mr Sam Mihaere and Mr John Metcalfe people all closely involved with Fishbowi's plans, elatedly holding the long-awaited lease.”
An excerpt from the article read: “Fishbowl has at last signed the lease allowing it to use the Maori Battalion Memorial Hall in Palmerston North for youth activities. And the organisation is delighted. It's also hoping to hold its first activities for Palmerston North's young people by early December, Mr Alec Gage, Palmerston North City Council recreational officer, told the "Tribune". He said he was personally "very elated" that Fishbowl at last had a building it could call its own. It had been working towards this object for more than two years, he said.”
This image forms part of the Manawatū Evening Standard Negative Collection. Unfortunately, only negatives between April and December 1978 are held.
