This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 31st December 1965 "In a tense struggle over the last few ends, A. Tarrant and J. Knowles (Palmerston North) won the Manawatu Bowling Centre's open pairs championship yesterday. Seen in the photograph are (from the left) R. Dockery. G. Newton (Manawatu Club, the runners-up) and A. Tarrant and J. Knowles in the holding the J. Moriarty Cup and with this win he now qualifies for a gold star. Tarrant has won four centre tournaments."
