"Tracing Incorrectly Addressed Mail"
More Info →- Description
-
This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 19 December 1962, "Hundreds of incorrectly addressed letters for which the mailroom staff at the Palmerston North Post Office hope to find owners. Mr H. B. Crawford, in the foreground, holds a handful of letters. He has found one he can send on its way - back to the sender. With Mr Crawford is Miss E. Christiansen and Mr J. W. Woodgyer, the supervisor of the postman's branch. Post office officials stressed the need for a sender's address on all mail."
