This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 01 November 1960 "Stormwater which flows into the Milson deviation from Heretaunga Street will be carried away in these 3ft concrete pipes. There will be 1580ft of pipes required to carry the water to the Kawau Drain which takes water from the deviation. The photograph shows the pipes being lowered into the drain."
