Construction of home built aeroplane
The frame of Alexander Radford’s home built aeroplane, inpsired by the American Lincoln Sports 1921, in his back garden at 5 Marne Street, Palmerston North. Radford obtained the details of the aeroplane’s construction from a 3 page article published in an American magazine. He worked on the aeroplane from 1929-1934, but, when it was almost completed, Radford suffered an accident. In 1940 he sold a share in the aircraft to Louis Findlay and it was completed and flown.
