Intermediate Normal School opened in 1941 for form 1 and form 2 pupils (aged around 11 and 12) who had previously been at primary schools in Palmerston North.

Born 3 February 1927, Mr Eric White was rector at Palmerston North Boys' High School from 1971 to 1987.
