The horses and wagons in this photo are thought to have been owned by Mr Pat Hanlon of Ashhurst. The log could have come from the Wilson Brothers' sawmill, situated on the east bank of the Pohangina River, just south of the Totara Reserve. The men in the photograph may be Charlie Berkenshaw and Albert Sykes, two employees of Pat Hanlon.
